I want to move from the UK and can't decide whether to go for Spain or Portugal for a new start.

I will need to completely start over including renting an apartment and finding a new job. A real serious big move for me.

Which would you choose and why please?

And remember i'm from England not America and also need to learn their language quickly.

  1. If you’re searching for a place that will offer you a low cost of living, a healthy lifestyle and plenty of things to do and enjoy, Portugal could be your number one choice.  portugal has  fantastic climate and excellent standard of living. many people from the uk have moved to portugal and fell in love with it. and for the language portuguese is very difficult to learn.

    i would stick with portugal

  2. Portugal,,,but I'm biased! Hubby is Portuguese and we're moving there shortly!

In all honesty - I think Spain's economy is slightly better than Portugal. It is incredibly hard for Portuguese to find work in Portugal, let alone foreigners! My husband is having a hard time finding work and he's bilingual (portuguese/english) and has good qualifications and alot of experience in his field. Not sure how the cost of living compares to one another but it may be worth checking out some online expat forums for more detailed advice. Good luck!

  3. try the algarve (south) everybody speaks english there.

    good luck

  4. Spain because of the food and women.
