Possible phone number???? 555-555-555555?

I had a missed phone call that had to many digits in it. Instead of having 4 last numbers it had 6. I tried to call it back, but it said that my call couldn't be completed as dialed. How is this possible????

No such number exist, the call came from a PBX or possible a private exchange, Like a hospital. OR your line doesn't accept calls from a blocked # and the caller was asked to unblock their or enter their #.

Then any # could be entered.

Telemarketers, bill collectors possibly.  The fact that you have 6 at the end is kind of creepy though.  I wouldn't try calling that back if it should happen again.
