I want to move to Baltimore. Anything I should know, expect, etc? Where should I live? Any good companies to work for? What are the bills often like out there? The weather? Anything else helpful would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Baltimore is an up and coming city, you cant trust everything you hear and see on tv. Depending on what your line of work is, there are plenty of big name companies to work for in town. If you want to live in the city, central Baltimore is where you want to be. Canton, Fells Point, Federall Hill will be your higher class options, but you'll still be able to find good deals. As long as you stay out of west Baltimore, you'll be fine. Gas and electric is very high here (BGE), but compared to the rest of the country i'm not sure how unreasonable it really is. The weather is typical for most of the East Coast, in the winter it can get very cold at times. We dont get much snow, maybe 10-12 inches, but the city pretty much shuts down when we even get a dusting. In the summer it will be in the high 80's low 90's most of the time with very high humidity. If you are serious about the move and not sure if you want to live in the city there are very nice suburbs within 10-15 minutes of downtown. Check out Perry Hall, Parkville, Towson. Hope this helps.
