Question:

Possibly Video Card problem?

I was playing an online game yesterday afternoon, and suddenly I got a blue screen before it went blank, and then the monitor just blinked like it does when the PC is turned off. The blue screen that flashed wasn't a normal blue screen but extremely pixelated.

I immediantly shut the computer down, let it sit for a bit and then started it back up. I hear the beep, the light comes on saying its accessing/reading the hard drive, the lights on the back for like network connection are on, and for a brief moment, the monitor might light up recognizing the comp being on, but still black, before going back into standby mode. It's a dual monitor video card, so I switched the connection to the other plug, and rebooted. This time I got pretty much the same thing with the beep and all but after a moment, it actually brought up a black screen with my white mouse pointer, which i was able to move around. However, on a regular cycle, the screen would blank out for a second and come back on for like 5 seconds. But again, never changed to anything besides that.

I think my video card might have just gone on the fritz. I mean, wouldn't I at least get the bios screen, like i always did before it went to windows, if it wasn't the video card? But I don't know and don't want to drop a bunch of money on a new card if that's not even the problem, so looking for other ideas.
