I got LASIK "yesterday." When I woke up my right eye seemed almost perfect, but my left eye is still a tad blurry. My doctor said it's because my eyes are still dry, but I've been putting on the natural tears and it hasn't gotten any better. Is this normal? Should I wait it out a few days before I get worried?

  1. One of the side effects of a lasik op is dry eyes. Also remember that the've cut into your cornea so a bit of swelling is not out of the question. Wait a few days and if the problem persist go back to your doctor.

Also keep in mind that to get exactly the same results on both eyes isnt that easy to accomplish so there might be a slight difference between the 2. Even if you had perfect eyesight with both eyes without correction you might still have a slight difference.

  2. I had CustomVue lasik a little over a month ago and the blurryness is quite normal.  Apart from the dry eye making things blurry, the eyes will fluctuate for about 6-12months but its most noticeable in the first week in my experience.  You shouldn't be worried if it hasn't been a week yet.  The week after I had it done my vision was 20/20 in both eyes....but it seemed like one wasn't as sharp but it wasn't noticeable unless I closed one eye.  After the month appointment....one eye was 20/15 (better than 20/20) and the other was 20/20.  The doc said the other might even get to 20/15 since full healing takes a while. So....Just give it time.  Good luck!
