It's tough brotha, Nothing is secure these days. If your a Vet you'll get ten extra points on your exam. By the time they review your exam along with everyone else's and then begin hiring that could take 1-2 years. Get hold of some practice exams and get prepared. In the mean time how about doing some temp jobs, ie., security, etc. The PO is 24/7 in some places. Hot or cold, wind, rain, snow..... but, there are some decient benefits. both inside and outside jobs, drivers,etc. Good-luck.
