Question:

Potty Trained Roborovski Dwarfs?

I don't know if this was a joke or not, but when I went to buy my Roborovski hamsters on Tuesday of this week, the woman at the store said that these hamsters could be "potty trained". I don't know if she meant that or not, because she was smiling at the same time, but was also explaining a lot of other things.

Okay, so I want to know, I haven't noticed anything yet, but do hamsters pick a corner of their habitat to lay waste in? Is it true that they can actually be...potty trained?

Thanks in advance.

  1. It probably can be potty trained a hamsters can.

i probly wouldnt woory about it i have animals and they p**p enywhere you cant stop them.

    try looking it up.

you can potty train them if you want what you do is get a jar and put some saw dust in and they will use that as their potty area.

    hopes this helps:)!

  2. Yes that is absolutely true. Well, in some ways (the good ways!)

My two Roborovski's did not even have to be potty trained. After about 3 months after I got them, I bought a (metal) food dish and filled it up with Chichilla dust for them to use as their sand bath.

They do not use it as a sand bath, instead they use it as their little bathroom (they do their 'business' in it and also go there to clean themselves)

All this happened without me involved AT ALL. They potty-trained themselves. Honestly. Now, instead of having to pick up thousands of little poos scattered around their aquarium, I just empty and refill the dish every week.
