Question:

Powdery mildew on strawberry plants?

by  |  earlier

I have a strawberry pot, (the urn type terra cotta pot that has 'cups' cut out of the sides of it) and it is filled with strawberry plants. Some of the leaves, not all, look to have what looks like powdery mildew. Anyone know if I have to get some sort of spray for it? Is it harmful? Can I just cut off the affected leaves? Does it affect the fruit? So many questions! (yes I am trying to figure it out on google too). Any advice would be helpful! Thanks! (PS I try not to get the leaves wet when I water it, but because it's a strawberry pot with plants on the side of its sometimes impossible not to get some wet)

  1. Hello,

Mix up some baking soda and water, spray on the mildew.

This mildew will get over everything if not  controlled, killing everything :0(

Baking soda can be eaten as well, what I have always liked about it.
