Power Antivirus 2009?

Does any one know how I can remove Power Antivirus 2009 from my computer? It is very annoying. It just keep popping up. I want it removed, but I don' know how to do it. I was told do not purchase it. Help.

The easiest way to fix it is using Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware (Download it, update it, do a full scan, and remove everything it finds).

I would also recommend the following programs to make sure that you don't get infected again in the future:

Spybot - Search & Destroy

Avira AntiVir Personal

Spyware Doctor Starter Edition

Power Antivirus 2009 is a rogue security application that claims to keep your system safe from spyware. It detects false positives and tries to scare the user into purchasing the application.It starts every time Windows starts and may generate big number of fake warnings and alerts. Also it may download other malware, open system security holes, install trojan horses that may steal your personal data, redirect your searches, change system settings. It is strongly recomended to remove Power Antivirus 2009 from your computer.

Have you tried booting into safe mode and running the following software:

Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

SmitFraudfix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.p...

Once you have removed it install Avast Anti-Virus and Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this will stop it returning. (links on my profile)
