I'm not sure what I am going to do yet? I have been told it's going to be very hard and I am willing to sacrafise anything. and be brave. My dad is very supportive with anything I do. I don't want to be called stupid? I already know. I just want some advice.

I have been taking independent studies since last September since my mom passed away from Cirosis of the liver. I finish school in two weeks, well all my credits to get my diploma. I have been working at a dentists office and have already been taking my college classes. Me and my boyfriend have been together for over two years now. I don't drink or do drugs neither does the father and I don't hang out with my friends anymore cause thats all they want to do. I hang out with my dad(who i am extremely close with especially since my mom passed away) and my boyfriend. :) Thats a little bit about me. over the past year.

So my question is.. What should I do? (Experiences?)

  1. First you should be proud of your self for what you have accomplished. you sound like you have made a mistake and you are trying to pull your self though. and since you already said you are will to sacafice anything i think you should keep your baby and work extremly hard to make a good life for him or her. there are alot of girls your age who think it is okay to still drink and do drugs even after there with child. but since you have the sence to know that that is no longer right that shows you already have that mother insinct and that's all you need to be a good mother. i hope EVERYTHING goes well for you and your baby. and i hope the father sticks around. keep you head up and know that you are not stupid you simply made a mistake and now you are doing what you have to do to recover from it!!! i wish you the best!!!

  2. Well, yes it is going to be hard but then again you are going to be a mommy. You have a human being growing inside of you and it is alive. Personally i envy you because I wish I was pregnant. I think you totally have the baby and enjoy being pregnant and be happy about it. As for college, you will be able to finish school if you put your head to it. anything is possible if you believe in your self. Dont believe those things that people say about being a teen mother. The majority of teen mothers wouldnt trade the outcome of their lives for anything in the world.

  3. I'm a little unsure of your question.  Are you asking that you aren't sure what to do as in give the baby up, keep it, or have an abortion?  If so, my opinion is that you really love your baby and want what is best for it.  You said that you are willing to sacrifice anything and be brave. That is quite selfless and mature of you to say so.  If you think your baby would be happier living with another family then it's a good decision.  You can choose either an open adoption or a closed one.  In an open adoption you usually are allowed(but not guaranteed) a letter and a picture of your baby each year and there is limited contact with the adopted family.  Abortion is permanant and will leave you with emotional scars.  If you love your baby how could you kill it? How could you deprive it of an opportunity to live life?

After reading the details on your question it's my opinion that you should keep your baby.  Of course it's your decision ultimately and you should do what you think is best.  Sorry to hear about your mom passing away.  I know it is probably a very hard season that you are in with her just passing away and getting pregnant.  I'm glad that your dad and boyfriend are being so supportive. That is a very good thing.  You will all make it through this.  As for you and your boyfriend, you have been together for over two years and seem responsible as you don't hang out with people who drink and do drugs.  My advise is to surround yourself with more positive people who are committed to helping you.  You are almost out of school, have a job, and have already started college.  It sounds to me like you have your priorities straight and have accomplished more than most 16 year olds I know.  With the help of your dad and boyfriend you can totally raise your baby.

If you keep your baby you can get most of your baby items at yard sales and second hand stores.  Babies outgrow clothing so fast so it's smart to buy them secondhand. Most of the time the clothing is in good condition because the baby outgrew them so quickly.  Also buy diapers in bulk like from Sam's club and such.  It's usually cheaper if you buy it in large quantities and you will definately go through them.  There is also a couple places online where you can buy diapers for cheap.  Another tip is: don't buy brand name!  When it comes to baby powder, baby wash, and lotions etc. the off brand gives the same result at a fraction of the cost.  Walmart brand "Parent's Choice" is much cheaper than the Johnson & Johnson brand.  In diapers Parents Choice and White Cloud(both Walmart brand) save you a lot of money compared to Luvs, Pampers, and Huggies.

Sorry this is getting so long but I'm really trying to help you.  You said, "I don't want to be called stupid? I already know."  I don't think you are stupid at all.  You will definately have to work hard if you want to keep your baby but it will be worth it.  Always remember being sixteen, young, and pregnant is temporary.  Giving up or aborting your child is permanant so make sure that the decision you make is what you think is best.  Blessings to you and your family!

  4. You sound as if you want to keep the baby, i being male cant really step into your shoes, but i realize its not going to be easy for you. You said it yourself thats you have a good support system, do what you think is right, i'll try not to cloud your judgment anymore....

  5. Sounds like you have your head on straight, at least compared to most 16 year olds in your position.

Do what feels right to you. I'm very happy for you that you have such a good relationship with your father!

  6. congrat's ur pregnant
