Question:

Premium outlets in France??

I am going to France in November for 12 days. I'm thinking of spending time in Paris and Nice and may be some surrounding areas like Eze, VillaFranche, Cannes, Monaco etc.

Do you have any suggestions for places to definitely visit and places to avoid?

And I love to shop so does anybody know of premium discount outlets for designer clothing and accessories aside from all the big beautiful stores in Paris?

Thank you very much for your help!

  1. The French version of an outlet mall is La Vallee Village (3, cours de la Garonne Paris 77700) where over 75 leading ready-to-wear, table ware and luxury labels offer their previous season's collections (minimum of 33% reduction (off original recommended price) and up to 60%).

Its  outside Paris but easy to get to. by the RER commuter train to the Val d'Europe station.

Better still, three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), there is a Cityrama shuttle service that goes there. Departure from the Cityrama agency, place des Pyramides, at 10:15 am and return to Paris at approximately 5:00pm.

The fare is 15€ round trip. Reservations are required by 5:00pm the day before departure, at your hotel desk or Cityrama agency.

As to a general iteinerary, I have never agreed with the notion that travel involves seeing as many different places as possible on each trip, the "If its Tuesday it must be Belgium" syndrome.

Twelve days is a ridiculously brief time to see just Paris, one of the most culturally rich spots on Earth.

Why waste time changing hotels, catching trains or planes, hauling your bags from place to place, and figuring out which end is up in several different cities when you could be exploring Paris in something more than the superficial rush of the average tourist?

I suspect that one reason that so many tourists have bad experiences is that they are so intent on rushing hither and yon that they become exhausted and frustrated when they should be relaxing and savouring the experience.
