What is the difference between a press release and filing for a publicly traded company? What is the timeline for each usually? What is presented in each?

  1. A press release is just a news story written by the company about something they want to publicize.  A quarterly filing is required by the SEC for some companies for financial and business related results for the quarter.  Its called a 10-Q and you can find them at the link below
