There is a lady where my husbands works who is trying to get a union and she is bugging him to vote for one. He has told her over and over he has no problems and does not beleive in unions. My question is can she keep bugging him while at work then calling our home, he is not home even 2 hours and she calls. If we don't answer home phone, she calls his cell if he does not answer it, she calls mine. What can we do to stop her? Is there a law against this? He tries to tell her nicely he is not interrested as he has to work with her but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help us out?

  1. My answer is;

    First, Unions are Necessary Evils. If companies treated those who provide the labor and skills to produce a given product or service fairly with a Livable Wage, Benefits and Job Security. We would need Unions. But They don't and We do!

    Second, Tell Missy that she is on the verge of harassment and if she doesn't Stop she will be reported and you'll work very Hard Against Her.

    This is a Free Country after all.

  2. Your husband should speak to the Human Resources department at his place of employment.

    His coworker is harassing him both at work and out of work.  This can be considered a hostile work environment.  By telling her he is not interested, and to stop contacting him, he has done everything he can do.  He now needs to take the issue to someone who can create consequences for this woman.

  3. You should be honored by their persistence.

    I Aways wanted a Union job will all the bells and whistles of benefits and job protections as long as their pension retirement is separate from social security.

    It is simple two retirement checks are better than one.

    With stable work environment I figured I could manage with  the improved wage that most unions offer, over the private sector,

    at least two more retirement resources.

    I never got accepted for Union employment. At best with a poorer wage base in the private sector I'm lucky to have social security.
