  1. take ur mind off it till the day comes. when the day does come just calm urself down by making urself truly think u are just doing this performance for ur parents and noone else. keep ur thoughts positive! If u mess up, which u probably wont, dont let it show and everyone will forget about it. afterall, they know u must be good if u were casted as a lead. everyone makes mistakes sometimes! good luck!

  2. As others mention, certainly you were chosen for a specific reason. Unless that reason happened to be that YOU were the only choice the casting director had, then I see no cause to be nervous.

With all due respect this is a School production, not Broadway, but the sense is that you were chosen in any case.

WE cannot "prevent" you from being nervous. All we can do here is suggest methods to relieve some of that, but once you open your mouth, YOU are essentially alone on stage.

Without any details as to WHY you are nervous about singing, I have to say, again, it is a school production, and unless there is peer pressure or bullying happening, you should likely feel TOP OF THE WORLD to have the opportunity. Obviously, again, there are dozens of methods, but many of them might create distractions, especially for the novice, in the attempt to make the performance go well. One method would be to totally immerse yourself in the song, that hopefully you know as well as you know your own name, even spelled backwards.

In any context, adult or youth, and spanning more issues than just acting, there are likely no less than 3 things we should GET as we proceed through life. Acceptance, Tolerance, and sometimes minor compromise that isn't degrading.

I do wish you well, and hope you'll nudge us back as to how the performance goes.

  3. Remember - you were picked for a reason! You're obviously good :] and nobody is rooting against you! You already have the part, you've got the goods, so strut your stuff and go for it!

Once you sing the first 16 bars, I'm sure you'll get more comfortable and really work it, and when you hear the crowd when you're finished singing, the next production will be cake!

    Good Luck :D

  4. well i had the same problem but i was taught to either picture the audience in their underwear!!!!!!!!! or to just think happy thoughts.

  5. You Rock (:

And Your Song is good - Your good at it (trust mee (:)

So just remember, your friends will be there for you whether you do good or bad.

    BELIEVE IN YOURSELF :O

    Xoo

  6. you already got picked so you dont suck.

just suck it up and do the d**n song and the next one be will so easy you will wonder why you were ever nervous in the first place.  good luck though.
