Ok. I am 12 years old and wear glasses normally (you know, like all the time, but take them off at night), and have had them for about 5 years. i have bad vision, [i think that wouldnt matter though], and would LOVE contacts,

because i look better with them off.

i think it would help if whoever is reading this that i live in the Metro detroit/ wayne county area in michigan. i am looking for prices for contacts.

but not daily contacts, i would hate those.

so to narrow it down, here is what i want to know::

1. how much an exam would cost for contacts in my area

2. how much a yearly supply of contacts would cost with an average deal.

now answer this question dangit!

  1. Boy, aren't you a little demanding? lol, you must be excited! I don't live in your area, but I can give you some info, so take it DANGIT! lol.

Exams for contacts are going to run anywhere from $85-$175 depending on where you go and what type of contacts you need. You should be on the cheaper side, it's not like you need complicated toric bifocal contacts ( I know you are saying "what??!") In my office the exam would be between $115 and $135. Plus we charge a $25 training fee to teach you how to put them in, take them out, clean them and take care of them. That would include a trial pair of contacts (so you can leave the office with your new contacts on), contact lens solution, and any trials and follow ups with doctor you need for the next six months.

The contacts themselves really depend on what kind your doctor prescribes for you. The two week lenses cost between $20-$40 a six pack so 2 boxes of those would last you about 3 months. Monthly lenses cost between $30-$70 a six pack, so 2 boxes of those would last about 6 months.

A lot of manufacturers have rebates when you purchase a year supply, and your insurance may pick up a portion of the costs, that is something you parents would need to check into.

    Good luck!

  2. if you have medical insurance they would pay for the eye exam

and regarding the price, depends which brand the doctor fits you,
