Primer and wood question?

ok so i'm doing a project and i'm sanding a guitar so heres the problem the primer has sunk into the wood after 20 years i'm guessing it should do that but it's really hard to sand and i don't want to spend like forever trying to sand it what can i do??

you could try getting as deep as u can, then just re-primer it, there nothing u can really do about that one, if its a 20 year old guitar, chance are that the woodwork is fragile too, so dont do too much with it. ive had that problem myself, i just repainted it, no primer or anything, just spraypaint. Luckily i have 3 guitars so its ok. :)
