My sister has been dating a guy for three months now. He seems really nice and I'm happy for her as she was treated badly by her ex. Her new boyfriend has a good job, is really intelligent and funny and treats her very well. The perfect boyfriend it seemed. Then two weeks ago she told me that he and two friends were sent to prison at 16 for fraud for six months. She has asked me not to say anything to our parents as they would probably react badly and he gets on well with our family and she doesn't want to mess things up. I've agreed to this for the time being as it isn't really my business and he does seem like a great guy now. I'm not sure whether I should be worried for her though. He told her straight away and didn't try to hide anything, but do people really change and how much of an effect does prison have on someone? Especially at that age. He is 32 now and seems to have sorted his life out.
