Prius or Avalon?

Thoughts on each? As far as gas mileage and all that other stuff people consider when looking for a new car...

  1. Prius if you can find one.

    Avalon is not worth the money, if you want a Toyota get a camry or a matrix

    Of coures the prius isn't as fun to drive, but it's cheaper, better in MPG and doesn't make you feel like your grandma.

    The Avalon is the wannabe Lexus in my mind. It's overpriced, and lacks in power, performance, and styling. It's huge, hard to handle, and isn't even that good in MPG.

    Other good options would be the Toyota Camry Hybrid, which seems like the happy medium in your case, or a Toyota Corolla/Matrix.

  6. They are like night and day.  Prius is for fuel economy.  Avalon is for its plush ride, no wonder automotive journalists call the Avalon the Toyota Buick.
