Question:

Probation officers come to your house?

Live in Ohio and on Probation, no one EVER said anything about coming to the house, not once. Also, it's no where on any of my probation/court paperwork. I've only discovered this tactic from reading some of these Yahoo questions. So if they never said anything, that probably means it's not gonna happen correct?

  1.   why yes they can and will.  i have been in florida dc for twenty years.  did you think no one would check on you.  ohio i'm sure would not like the fact you would move and not tell them.  just fyi  the last violation i done was one i use all the time.  after my check leave grab a bite then come back.  you know  cleaning your guns while smoking dope will voilate you.  i could go on but no.  read your probation don't violate and reduce my work load i carry about 400 cases.

  2. Unless you are on informal supervision, home visits are a part of probation, so you can plan on having one eventually.

The only way the to be sure is to talk to your PO.

  3. Probation is always under supervision. It is very likely that you might receive a visit from an officer.

  4. It does happen and it doesn't have to be on your paperwork for them to be allowed to come to your house.  Usually when they come to your home it's to make sure you really live where you say you do.  If they have no reason to believe you are falsifying where you live chances are, they won't come to your house.  Probation officers are so overworked with huge caseloads.  If they can stay in their offices they are perfectly happy to.
