Question:

Problem with Asus notebook

Hello, I'll try to make this as short as possible. The screen on my laptop started doing horizontal jumping/skipping. Sent back to Asus under warranty. They replaced the screen the AC adapter and DVDRW. It was sent back and started the same problem right away. Sent it to Asus a second time. They said they found a problem with the motherboard and replaced it. I don't use the laptop much but recently used it to watch some DVD's and burn some pictures onto disks. It worked for many hours over a period of a few days and then the screen started doing the same thing again. I hooked up the laptop to my regular PC monitor and the jumping was only happening on the laptop screen, not the PC monitor. Does this confirm it is a problem with the laptop screen then? If so, what is causing this? Is the second screen they put on a dud too? Can overheating be causing this? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. I will be phoning ASUS again, but I don't know if they are going to help me anymore at this point. I don't use the laptop very often so about 8 months has passed since they last sent it back to me. Thanks
