Question:

Problem with recorded dvds?

I live at university and I don't have a tv, so my dad records dvds of some of the shows I watch and sends them to me. This would be lovely if they actually worked.

What happens is when I try to play them they begin but after say 2 mins they stop for no apparent reason. they won't rewind they wont fast forward. so i tried going the long way round by skipping to the nest scene and then rewinding it back. this worked for another two mins and then it did exactly the same thing?! So two questions - what is going on?! and how do I stop it?

The DVDs my dad uses are +R ones and the discs are usually finalized (although it happens whether they are or not) I am on a windows pc and am playing them on media player. HELP!!!

  1. Do they play on your dad's DVD player an/or computer? If so then it must be that your computer is incompatible with the discs. DVD-R might work if your dad can use them (not all machines can.)

  2. best buy is having a sell just buy a tv

  3. The disc's if they play for 2 minutes must be being read by the cd rom drive, so they are compatible, I very much doubt simply stitching from +R to - R is the problem.

You do not mention the format they are being recorded in, this may be more of an issue, also is the PC your using up to the job in terms of video display / RAM and HD?

    Hope this helps a little?

  4. TRY USING -R  DISCS THAT WHAT I USE AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM
