okay so i was watching a crappy movie on a website and antivirus xp 2008 popped up. i knew it was fake but before i clicked out of it my computer completely froze up. then i had to cut the power to shut it down. then of course my background is gone and antivirus keeps telling me i have viruses that i don't have like i know it does. BUT my computer has been freezing up ever since, and it won't even let me reload windows xp. i know how to uninstall the program so please don't tell me how to do that :D. i'm just wondering if antivirus xp is the cause of all my problems or only some of them. is my computer freezing and not reloading xp because of antivirus xp?

  2. Hi

    Yes, I think it is.

I suggest you boot into Safe Mode (press F8 at startup) and follow these instructions:

This to clean up your computer:

Then I would read this on how to secure how PC from future malware:

  3. This is the new one so there are not any efficient ways to remove it. You must re-install the OS to fix it....   Trust me i just had this problem. it also effects your PC by disabling many programs, you cannot use system restore, explorer.exe is terminated every 5 minutes, fake spyware-malware-virus messages, disables security, and if you delete it it comes right back.   And thats just the beginning. There is also another version which DESTROYS your PC making it unable to re-install the OS.
