Problems with Mentoes-Diet Coke rocket?

Got the coke and the mentoes. Take the paper off. Loosen cap. Not getting what I expected. Is am shaking time too short? Am I not loosening the cap enough? Spending a bunch of money and not getting the rocket effect. Can you help me?
