Problems with Olympus FE-210?

Question

When we press the power button, an orange light comes on, the lense retracts three times, then the camera turns off. We have replaced the batteries but it hasnt helped. Can anyone tell us what could be wrong with it?????

Is this camera new?  Under warranty?
