Problems with my ipod please help!?

alright so theres never really been huge problems just that sometimes my computer wont recognize my ipod but it would eventually, but 5 months ago i got a virus and i had to wipe everything including all my music off my computer but i still have the music in my ipod but recently ive been adding music to itunes again and so i want to update it so i connected me ipod it went through but it said i had a different library annd asked if should erase it or keep the purchased items i chose keep purchased items in case i get to save some songs, and then it said it had a ipod update so i pressed update, it looked like it was doin a update but then my ipod was no longer visible in my itunes i looked at my ipod it was playing the 1st song on my ipod i tried goin to menu and it wouldnt let me it just lets me see the songs and i can skip songs but i cant pause if i try doin anything else it say "DO NOT DISCONNECT" i waited awhile but it stayed that way so i disconnected it and yet still it said same thing now i cant even see any songs it just says "DO NOT DISCONNECT" and its not even connected...what should i do im so upset, can i some how send it some where to be fixed? or is it just forever broken now? i tried connecting it but it doesnt show up anywhere on itunes...

Try doing a reset on the iPod. Hold the menu and the button in the middle of the click wheel usually the same color as the iPod. the ipod should reset and try connecting it to your computer again to see if it does work. the click wheel is the white circle with the play/pause forward/back and menu buttons also adjusts volume when you run your finger over it

If you have an iPod touch, hold the home button and the sleep button on top of the iPod until it resets, also works on iPhones.

iPod shuffle reset is basically switch it on and off.

hi, my iPod froze up last night, so this is what i did.  Hold the menu button and the middle (select) button at the same time.  Then try to connect to your computer.  It should work.  Good luck!!
