Projection TV Convergence issue?

My TV convergence is meesed, projection TV. Called a repair man and on the phone said it is a convergence issue and if need to replace chips would run 300 to 350. This is similar to what I have seen on here. He also said the chips going bad caused a issue with the power something it to fix both would be 400. Does this sound right? The power back up or something? Anyone know if this sounds right?

I replace them allmost daily.  $300-$350 is very accurate (you might have seen me quote that here) .  Any secondary Power supply issue?  All I can think of is either bad connections or open pico fuses in toshibas or yoke return resistors in Samsungs.  In either case the parts are negligible (couple of bucks) and I've allways done these minor additions with same labor.--The $400 was probably a way to get $400 for the fix.

i have the same problem and everwhere i looked i have found the same answer..... it is the power convergence or something that has to do with it check out this site......
