Projection technology and acoustics course?

Question

I am interested in learning about Projection technology, digitalmedia, applied acoustics. I want to be a hobbiyst movie exhibitor (if there is any such thing). Please help with online resources, courses, part time courses

The British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society offers projectionist training and certification programs. The BKSTS claims to have representatives in India: “the BKSTS is represented through agents in Asia, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, France, India, Ireland, South Africa, Turkey and the USA.” I recommend that you contact the BKSTS to obtain the names of their representatives in India. You should also contact your local KODAK offices for information as well. Both should be able to assist you in finding projectionist training in your geographical area; be aware that you may need to be very persistent to get the answers you want.

If you’re looking for online training you should not be surprised if you cannot find it; training to operate projection equipment is best done through hands-on training. Likewise, you may also find that your best option to learn projection and cinema technology will be through on-the-job training.

Even though the cinema industry is rapidly moving toward digital projection technology, film projection will likely linger for a few more years. It would be beneficial for any prospective projectionist to try and find a (used) copy of the SMPTE “Projection Manual” recommended by Kodak’s John Pytlak in the answer he posted on the following forum page:
