Proper Formaition for Guitar Hero?

I have the Guitar Hero for the Wii... And I was curious on the proper way of playing Guitar Hero. i have made it all the way to the blue. My pointer is on the green, Middle is on the red, ring finger on the red and pinky on the blue. Is this correct or is there a different way or proper way. it's hard for me to do the orange :(

i do green pointer , next is red , finger after that is yellow , after that. pinky on blue and i move my hand down for orange

so i dont strech my pinky and miss the note

your doing it right. thats the real way. u can slide ur hand down to play orange if it hurts or u can practice stretching ur pinky finger. thats what i did and it dosen't hurt any more :)

That's fine for now, if you're only up to songs with the blue key.. But IMO, once you get to the harder songs, it'll be alot easier on your hand if you keep this resting position..

1st (pointer) finger on green

2nd (middle) finger on yellow

3rd (ring) finger on blue

4th (pinky) finger on orange

That way, all you really need to concentrate on is pushing the keys in time, and when the green button is needed, you can either stretch or shift. I'm assuming most people have more control using their 1st finger vs. their 4th finger, and when you have to shift or stretch, it's easier to feel that you're on the right key with your 1st finger. Who wants to have to shift with their pinky, and then press in time with the song? I think most the harder songs play down towards the orange most the time anyway.

Basically, I think you should have the finger that has to push more than one button your 1st finger rather than your 4th finger b/c I think most people have better control with the 1st.

But try different ways to play. What works for one player may not work with others. After all, it doesn't matter how the keys get pressed, just that they do.
