  1. First off I am getting this information out of THE PILL BOOK.  It has almost every kind of medication in it and it tells you what it is prescribed for, cautions and warnings, possible side effects, correct dosage, etc.

so what i am reading is that Propranolol is prescribed for high blood pressure, angina pectoris, abnormal heart rhythm, prevention of second heart attack or MIGRAINE, tremors, aggressive behavior, side effects of antipsychotic drugs, acute panic, stage fright and other anxieties.

It does mention migraines so yes it is to help you.

Possible side effects can be impotence, tiredness or weakness, slow heart-beat, dizziness, breathing difficulties, depression, confusion, cold hands and feet, stuffy nose, rash, hair loss, itching, increased sweating, urinary difficulties, and many others.

Special information says propranolol is for continuous use.  Do not stop taking this drug unless directed to do so by your doctor.  If you just stop taking it, it can cause chest pain, breathing difficulties, increased sweating, and unusually fast heart rate.

If you are pregnant or just want to stop taking this medicatino for another reason, I would recommend you talking to your doctor.  You have to gradually stop taking this medication.

    Hope I Helped You!!

  2. i was on it 20 yrs ago  for b.p...its used for migraines  to open the arteries  wider..yes you can call the place you got it at they can advice you  good luck!!!!!!

  3. No, you can come off propanolol with no problems - it doesn't induce a dependence syndrome (i.e. you won't get any funny withdrawal symptoms). You should avoid propranolol in pregnancy, but a lot of people find that pregnancy causes their migraines to improve during that time anyway (although sadly they tend to come back afterwards). They could give you something else in place of that if you had trouble anyway.

Hmm, reactions to propranolol. Well, you shouldn't be taking it if you have asthma because it can cause difficulty breathing. It can also slow your heart rate and lower your blood pressure, so you might feel dizzy if you stand up too quickly etc. It can also caused nightmares. However, you're on a low dose so I wouldn't worry.

Stick to the instructions in the patient information leaflet and you should be fine. Any trouble that you think is due to the meds, go see the doctor :o)
