Stoke City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis has revealed that he plans on signing a couple of new players before Friday’s transfer deadline, and expects the current week to be a busy one for the club.
The Potters have already acquired the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Kightly this summer.
On Sunday, the Welshman saw his side play out a goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium, and was thoroughly impressed with the performance of Cameron.
However, he still feels that his squad requires further additions, and let out his plans of making further signings within the next couple of days.
The transfer window is set to close on the 31st of August.
He told the reporters in the post match interview, “I hope next week will be a busy week for us because we need to freshen it up… We spent 23 years outside of the top flight and we're putting together an infrastructure that most of the Premier League clubs
have.”
According to reports, Stoke have also succeeded in the claiming the signature of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maurice-Edu-c24896. A formal announcement in this regard is expected to be made on Monday.
The 54-year old is also known to be keeping close tabs on the Tottenham Hotspur defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Dawson-c25288. However, his transfer fee and salary are believed to be the impeding factors in the proposed move.
Nevertheless, Pulis unearthed that he will leave no stone unturned in his effort to land the English International at the Britannia Stadium, as he deems him to be a perfect-fit for his future plans.
Dawson, who was signed by Spurs from Nottingham Forest in January, 2005, remains to be an understudy at the White Hart Lane, and manager, Andre Villas Boas might be interested in off-loading him this summer, given his lack of value to the team.
In total, the defender managed to make just 7 appearances for the North London club last season.
“Huddlestone and Dawson and people like that would improve us and make us a better team… If we have to bite the bullet a little bit we have to bite the bullet, but hopefully it will make this club better in future years.”
