Punishment for Animal Abuse

Do you think that the criminal charges on animal cruelty is to light? I mean don't animals have feelings. Shouldn't they be brought to justice and given a heavier sentence then 2 years in prison for starving a horse to death, or hurting a puppy and leaving it to die? What should it be changed to?

if someone would do that to an animal what would they do to a human life, I think that they should get a bigger punishment personally.

Yes! Punishment is far too light for people who commit crimes on animals. The sooner we get some common sense in the judiciary instead of the 'jelly judges' we have now, the better it will be.

5 to 10 years at least i am with you. I mean they are living creatures like people only small. so they shold get punished

This effects me aswell. I have worked in the RSPCA rescue team. My god i have seen some horrible things. Like a horse who had a wound that hit the bone was left and never treated. He got a 5,000 dollar fine.

Yes the punishment should be heavier. But two years is alot. The fine of 5,000 dollars was ridiculous. Make it 10 thousand and give them loads of community service.

They give excuses like i couldnt afford it. Well if you couldn't afford it tell someone!!

Death sentence for sure! And there should be something done for the people who let their animals run loose and then get hit by a car!

yes i really think the criminal charges are  to light.animals do have feelings but there are some stupid people that dont relize that and they should get a very heavy punishment.i dont think the sentence should be for 2 years i think it should be more.and i wonder if the people that mistreat animals dont think that if we do the same things to them they wont like it.animals want to be loved just like people.they are like people they think like people but they just dont talk.thats the only difference thing we have with animals.

its terrible to do that i mean they wouldn't like it if we shoved large needles into them.animals are basically small people,i think they should get a bigger punishment personally.
