Question

anyone know any really good kung fu movies from the seventies and eighties and please dont mention jet li, jackie chan or bruce lee please. try to name as many classics as you can please!

The Martial Artists/Actors in these movies represent the best of the best to me as far as displaying martial skills go.

The actor known as "Beardie" to westerners is one of my faves who started as an extra and had no skills. He's usually paired off with Philip Ko Fei and their "duo" movies are great and also comical.

Of course, Master Liu Chia Liang (Lau Kar-Leung) is a real master of the Hung fist. Hid Father was a student of "Butcher" Wing, assistant and top student of Wong Fei Hung.

His movies are 'works of art'. He is the Older Brother AND Teacher of Gordon Liu, who was adopted as a little boy.

His other student Hsiao Hou is brilliant as a Monkey Stylist and played the best Fong Sai Yuk role ever in Disciples of the 36th Chamber. <--- you can watch it online but you have to have a fast connection.

Bruce Liang is another one who is truly skilled and played in some great movies. He played the "Frog" character at the end of Kung Fu Hustle. He did a movie that is hard to find now  about White Crane Fist. They used real Fukien White Crane but some Five Ancestor Fist and Tibetan Crane elements were incorporated, I guess to make it interesting.

Alot of Sammo Hung's movies are awesome and funny too... Pedicab Driver, Millionaire Express - a hysterical movie with great martial artist, including Kurata in a role as a Ninja.

Many great movies from the era you mentioned.
