  1. Contact your local Business Link for help with all your food hygiene certificates and any other legislation that's applicable.  They're also really good for helping with starting in business.

The thing that you need to be really good at is marketing your business so that you keep the customers you have and attract new ones.  There's a lot of competition out there so why should people come to you?  Think about what makes you different.

The other thing you'll need is lots of stamina.  It's not a 9-5 job and finding and managing suitable staff is hard work, too.

    Best of luck!

  2. You need the food hygene certificates, a good head for business and being able to do your books would be helpful.

  3. the only thing you need is a Food and Hygiene Cert.  You can call into the local council offices and ask when the next available course is.

its rather lame in the fact that it basically sppon feeds you common sense, which we already know.

but in this day and age of 'health and safety' is obligatory to get this piece of paper.

    good luck and have fun

  4. I think all you would probably need is basic food hygiene and good understanding of running a business. You don't need to have done a business course. Its a good idea to get Small business advice too. There are lots of organisations in your local yellow pages.

  5. These 2 business opportunity profiles from cobweb will tell you exactly what skills and qualifications you need, what training is available and much much more. I found these guides to be excellent when I started my business!

    Sandwich shop - http://www.scavenger.net/product.php?pro...

    Fish & chip shop - http://www.scavenger.net/product.php?pro...

Your local business link will be able to provide a copy of each free of charge http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/act...

Best of luck with your business ideas. Rebecca x

  6. I think you will need to have  health , safety and general hygiene certificates at least.  Not sure what else.
