Quarantine Question?

Say you live in a two floor apartment with 2 bedrooms and then large 1 room donstairs which is a mix of a kitchen and living room. I have a lovebird named kiwi who stays upstairs in my room. If i were to bring another parrot home would the new bird be "quarantined" from my lovebird or would they still be considered in the same airspace. I realize the risks that are associated with not quarantining new birds but i really need to know a definite answer. If you need more info please leave a reply but this is a matter of literally life and death if i choose to get another bird in the coming weeks.

I have lovebirds as well.  Upon introducing a new bird, I quarantine the new one with a separate cage with separate food and water from the rest but in the same airspace.   I put one cage in the other side of the room and after two weeks if the new bird seems to be adjusting, I place the two cages next to each other.

It should be fine as long as they are in a different room.  Make sure to take care of your older pet so that no diseases can be transferred from your new pet to you old one.  If you keep the new one in the upstairs bedroom and Kiwi downstairs, they should be fine.
