  1. she gets money from the "civil list" and from her own personal wealth.

She does not pay rent on palaces they are "Crown property" (nominally owned collectively by all of us)

  2. Why should the Queen pay rent on her own properties?.

  3. queen elizabeth

  4. According to the Royal family, the equivalent of 40 pences of everybody in UK, of course, this doesn't include, the cost of their incompetence and their bad decisions, or the decisions they directly support.

The war in Irak, 100 billion in excess, the Trident defence project to protect the skies of UK, 60 billion, the Olympics, 13 billions... but remember that we, the immigrants are the one to blame cause in London there is not housing or money for schools... 40 billion the help to Northern Rock, in carry on...

Basically, the UK politicians and Royal family cost the 75 % of every salary in UK... They lead the fight against global warming using 45 times the private  airplanes and use the green tax (100 % of every ticket) to build 6 new airports and a new nuclear station (according to blair this is very gree, maybe the atomic waste can be use...?)...

Once again, is not only what their security cost, or their palaces, or their food, their goverment is absolutley ludicrus, imagine that we can smoke in pubs cause is bad to our health but London is the capital of Europe of bnge drinking and drugs...they are absolutly stupid.!!!

  5. No pay nothing and gets loads of our hard earned cash and are very rich but still take it

  6. All these figures you have been bamboozled with, are not worth the paper they are written on, if you live in a small town ask how much extra went on your council tax bill if any of the monarchy had visited it, Police overtime council spending hard eared money on paint extra Rd. sweeping, new toilets built that are not used, I remember flying from Exeter airport when Princess Marina drop in from Guernsey, Ten miles of lane had bollards placed every fifty yards, for security reasons

    and this was before terrorism

  7. no, they pay nothing back, they are truly parasites on this earth, the family is vast and the nation feeds them all, i personally believe it is a crime on the British people, perpetrated over a thousand years, over years they have slaughtered there way to power on the backs of the asses who are near to them through ancestral connections, lords and ladies of the royal courts. sadly Britain as a nation is indoctrinated to loyalty for the "royal" family it is unlikely it will change in the foreseeable future, still, if that is what people want, then i see no harm in letting them stay and the people paying, although i myself find it strange that they do,

  8. It was announced that the Royal Family cost U.K. taxpayers about $68 million last year. “Our key aim,” said the Keeper of the Privy Purse, “is not to try and achieve a low-cost monarchy.”

They are cutting cists, since the Lady Diana bad publicity.  The Queen, for exampe, had to get rid of her famous yaught!

They get money from the taxes, whether royal family pays a  TOKEN TAX or not.

The cost, equivalent to 62p per person in the UK, rose 4.2% over the previous year, accountants said.

The increase was partly blamed on extra security vetting undertaken at Buckingham Palace.

Freedom of information inquiries and the cost of a number of long-haul overseas visits by members of the Royal Family, also contributed to the rise.

Travel costs increased by 10% to £5.5 million.

The household receives £15 million from public funds annually for running the palaces.

But senior officials said the figure was set in 1998 and is only reviewed every three years. They said they would be asking for £1 million more, plus inflation.

The mausoleum at Frogmore, Windsor, was said to be the site most in need of restoration, amounting to £2 million.

They are a money drain, but the money is respnt and respent in the economy, so they may "pay for themselves" in trickle down economics and tourist income for the country!!!

Apparently Charles and Camilla cost the British public the equivalent of 3.5p each for every person in Britain!

Prince Charles paid nearly £3.3m in tax in 2005 - some 23% of his income of more than £14m.

Accounts also show his private income rose by 6% to more than £14m in 2005-06 on the back of commercial property rent reviews and higher investment returns.
