  1. The Nat. Guard has taken law-abiding citizen's guns and property away BY FORCE after Katrina.  There are videos of nice white people answering the doors of their big, nice houses, and then everyone, including children, are handcuffed and thrown into the yard at gunpoint while their houses are searched for guns.  If you join the military, you take an oath to protect the constitution from enemies foreign and domestic, so if you wanted to get really technical, you'd have the obligation to subdue those who were not following the constitution.

If you have no problem handcuffing kids and pointing guns at them, join up.  Just don't mess with my little brother....

  2. The shortest contract for the ARNG and ANG is 4yrs. You will have to work one weekend a month and 2 weeks a year during you enlistment, plus go on deployments for 6months to a year depending on your job. If you just want money for school and not really work for it, get a student loan. You earn the money they give you for college, I know I did when I was in the Guard.

You live at home unless on active duty then they provide housing and pay you extra if you own a house.  So bases have barracks, I stayed at a AF Reserve base that had a hotel, I stayed at a civilian hotel and some of our guys shared an apartment but that's for active duty time only.
