Question about Hidden Camera

Last week I was robed and i'm not sure if it was my landlord or friends. Iphone has an app where u can monitor your hidden cameras if you know the IP address to it. So my question is this, I recently purchased a pinhole camera camera that only has a few wires to hook into a vcr, how do I set up a camera and assign an IP adress to it. If it involves a computer, does it have to be hidden next to the computer? Thanks in advance.

The camera cannot be used by itself to monitor via the internet. You will need to hook it up to a computer and be running the appropriate software

Given that you need to hook up to a computer, it might be easier to get a webcam and use it as a security camera.
