Question about Kent?

I am an American my great-grandmother and great-grandfather were from Kent. Can any one tell me what it's like there? What are the people like? and What are the chances of me being able to find any records on them? I did try to do research on the name Bridgeland (not sure of the spelling) and came up with nothing.

You'll need to know what part of Kent they came from.  Start by asking your parents for information about their family.  Make notes of as much as they can tell you.  Then, start working back from your parents - their birth certificates are a good starting point.  From there you might find out where your grandparents were from and from there what part of Kent your great-granparents were from.  For example, if your grandparents were born in the UK their place of birth will tell you the area where your great-grandparents were living at the time.  From there you can look at the census records which will tell you where they lived, what they did for a living and how many children they had at the time.  

Once you start you will find it fascinating.  Enjoy!

Kent is known as "The Garden Of England" and also the "Gateway To Europe"

The people of Kent are Pretty much the same as people in the UK they all with the odd exception like Americans and are generally a friendly bunch.

They are split into two tribes divided by the River Medway one set is called "Kent's Man " and the other "Man of Kent"

As far as tracing your ancestors you have the best chance ever because we British love to keep records but you would need to find out a bit more about your Grandparents.

Perhaps the best place to start once you find more information are the local Kent parish or the 1901 census on line.
