Question about Pokemon..?

My sister and I used to play with pokemon cards and such when we were younger, then they came out with the Game Boy game and we loved that. But to the point, my brother recently bought Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and I played it and it was nothing like old school pokemon. I remember picking the fighting actions and catching the pokemon and this game is NOTHING like that. All you do is press the A button and hope for the best.

But anyway, Are all of the Pokemon games on the Nintendo DS like this or are any of them somewhat like the old gameboy game?

Thanks in Advance!

  1. No Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are old school. The ones your talking about are diffrent because Nintendo wanted to try something diffrent. Look for Pokemon Platinum in August.

  2. The Pokemon Dungeon games are like that but the main games (Diamond and Pearl) are like the old school games.

    :P

  3. No, Mystery dungeon is just an epic spinoff. Diamond and pearl are like the GBA games.

Mystery dungeon is way better in my opinion.

  4. No they are not all like this.  Get Pokemon Diamond and/or Pearl.  You will like them better.

  5. The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games (along with Pokemon Ranger) are what they call "spin-offs" of the main franchise. Basically, they are Pokemon games, but they are different from the main RPG that you played in the past. Actually, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness is pretty fun and more than just hitting the A button.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, for the Nintendo DS, are like your old Game Boy games, where you go around collecting badges and trying to catch 'em all, although it has many features that the original games didn't have. I recommend them if you liked the old games.
