Question about Wireless notebook Card.?

I live at a apartment very close to my school, school has free Wi-Fi, will I be able to use the wireless notebook card to help me find the school Wi-Fi signal? I have a HP Pavilion dv6000. What kind of the wireless notebook card is the best for me?

Buy  what's on sale.  They all work.

I have used Netgear, ZyXel and others.  They all work

IT REALLY DEPENDS ON HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO THE SIGNAL.ALL WIRELESS CARDS WILL WORK BUT THE ONES WITH THE"MIMO TECHNOLOGY"AND SIGNAL BOOSTERS WILL HAVE BETTER RECIEVING RANGE.
