Question about animals?

Why is it that nearly all animals have the same design about certain things. Such as why is it that animals and people all have eyes somewhere on the upper part of their face and below the eyes in the middle is the nose and below the nose is the mouth and the ears are somewhere on the side. Why do all the animals and people have this same setup. Why is it that animals all have the same area where their genitals are and the area where they get rid of food and waste always in the back? Why do they all have these similarities? Are all forms of life related?

  1. It's convenient for the body to have the main sensory organs close to the brain, so an organism can detect and react to its environment quickly enough. Evolution has forced many organisms into this basic body structure because it has proven effective and convenient.

  2. All animals have a common ancestor so if one branch evolves into another it is obviously going to have the same traits and characteristics. Obviously with more time the changes can become more pronounced.

  3. The eyes, ears, nose and tongue are four of the main sensory organs and are heavily "wired" with nerves that very much resemble brain cells.  It is convenient to to have such heavy wiring closet to the brain.

All life is related to some degree and  all the the basic plans for the animals you described are roughly the same because time has proven them to be successfull, at least for the larger animals.
