Question about bidding with Ebay?

Once I bid on an item am I basically locked? I decided that I no longer want the item is there something I can do about it or do I jus have to hope someone outbids me?

Search the auction site. There will be reference where you can go and retract your bid.

If there is more then 12hrs left on the auction you can retract your bid. Type in retract bid in the search bar on ebay and you should find the info you need there to walk you through the steps to do it.
