Question about birth control

my friend is ttc and we were wondering that if she is taking microgestin when should she start trying to get pregnant. she took her last pill on saturday and is on her period right now. should she wait about a month or so that the birth control can get out of her system.. or can she start right away

  1. The BC won't hurt the baby but it isn't great either. Don't take it again at all, but don't worry about the pill you took. She can start trying right away, but it'll be hard the first month. Her body may not do it, but if it does theres no harm in it! good luck!


  2. She can start right away. The hormones from her pill will be out of her system within a week (ie: probably already). If the hormones have left the body enough to allow her to get pregnant, then there won't be enough in her system to do any damage at all to the baby. She'll be fine, as long as she remembers to take 400mg Folic Acid daily, starting now. That can help prevent some miscarriages.
