  1. start on white, next is blue(typically)

with a beginner white belt - break falls, technical lifts, breaking the guard, one submission(usually armbar or americana)hip escapes and shrimp drill escapes, and proper bridging techniques...thats what you learn right away as a white, to get to blue you have to be able to probably submit blue belts and show you can hang with them...but also showing that you understand all the basic techniques and can utilize them in live training...i think its just the instructors discretion as far as the advancement of students

  2. There is a yellow belt for juniors, but unless you're like 5 then you'll be going to blue.

  3. Brazilian jiu-jitsu belts.

    White

    Blue

    Purple

    Brown

    Black

Red is reserved only for masters.

BJJ belt rank is a tricky beast as there are no set guidelines as to how many attacks, sweeps, counters, combos, are required to move on to the next rank.

BJJ focuses on combat effectiveness first and foremost. So in order to move on to the blue belt you'd have to have solid base skills, and perform these while rolling against an active resisting opponent.

  4. diddly squat

  5. no yellow in bjj

  6. theres no yellow belt in bjj....lets start with that
