Do you have to use a jvc MiniDV Cleaning Cassette

on a jcv camcorder If yes plz tell me why???

Not really. But I would still use the same company's head cleaner to make sure the lubricants are compatible

No... but the different manufacturers use different lubricants on the tape transport.

There was a time when the lubricants were so different that they cause camera head clogging problems - but they fixed that a few years ago. Conventional wisdom says once you buy a tape for your camera, stick with that tape for the life of the camera.

If you buy JVC tapes, use the JVC headcleaner tapes - if you buy Sony Tapes, use the Sony headcleaner tapes...

I *think* Panasonic still uses a lubricant formula different from the other tape manufacturers (but it was reformulated to not cause as many issues with lubricants from other vendors - so the same thing goes - use Panasonic tapes, then use the Panasonic head cleaner.
