Question about capo?

If you are playing a song with a capo on the first fret, and the song has G chord and C chord, how do you play it if the capo is blocking the fret?

I've had my capo forever, but I've never really used it.

A capo acts as a new nut on the guitar, so you play chords and notes the same way as you would if the capo wasn't on. They'll just be at a higher pitch.

You can play it just as easily as playing the chord one octave higher, right?  Hope this information helps.
