Question about cartwheels?

I'm fourteen and have never been able to do a cartwheel because of fear of falling. (haha) Do you HAVE to know how to do a handstand before a cartwheel? I can do one but not without something to lean against... I'm probably gonna kill myself trying!

A cartwheel passes sideways through the handstand position, so yes it helps to have a great handstand.

Don't fear cartwheels. There's not much that can happen to you when you do them. Just keep your arms by your ears and lock them out so you can't dump yourself on your head.

Handstands would help but they're not essential.

When your doing a cartwheel keep ypur arms really straight and stuck to your ears. Also do a large step into it so that theres more force behind you and less chance of you falling .

Keep your legs straight. Only thing you have to do i sucked at doing cartwheels now i do them all the time lol.

Being able to do a handstand would be helpful, but not completely necessary.

When working on your handstand be sure to keep everything(arms, back, and legs) straight and your legs/feet together.

no you do not. a cartwheel is just simpley hand hand foot foot. it dosent have to be perfect the first time. just start small and gradually with practice you will get it. even if its just in a little circle. and there is always something of your body holding you up.
