Question about drinking green

I have lately been drinking green tea frequently. I was talking to different family members and they say that green tea is good to drink because of antioxidants but is bad if you drink too much of it. What is too much? Is two times every day bad? Is one time every day bad? Help please!

  1. You can drink up to 8-10 cups of tea a day. Many sources say there is actually no limit and recommend drinking as much as you want. The amount of caffeine is negligible.

  2. Relax!  A couple of cups a day is good for you.

Too much of *anything* is bad for you.  That's why they call it "too much".  I think you'd find it difficult to drink so much green tea that it actually becomes *bad* for you.

  3. 2-4 cups a day is recommended, but I would suggest not more than 6. You also need to drink a recommended 6-8 glasses a water on top of the tea. Tea can not be a substitute for water.

So if you are drinking so much tea that you are finding it hard to drink your recommended cups of water, then you are drinking too much tea.

If you want to increase or reduce the amount of tea you are drinking, drink 1 glass of water before each meal, and drink 1 glass of tea after your meals up to 4 times a day. The reason the tea should be drank after meals is to aid in digestion of any grease, fats and butters, that are on or in the food you ate. Almost everything we eat contains a certain amount of fat. Trans fats or saturated fats.

If no weight loss in necessary or desired for you, this routine will help improve your digestive track, make your intestines, liver, and kidney's healthier, and improve your skin.

I do this, and also drink a glass of wu-yi tea in the morning and one at night, and 4 glasses of green tea lean throughout the day. (this is to aid in weight loss) And I have lost 7 lbs in the last week.

  4. Green tea is good for you. Don't worry. You can have a few a day without any problems. Yes you can have too much but that really depends mostly on two things. The caffeine and how much sugar is in the tea you drink.

Green tea is light in caffeine compared to other caffeinated drinks. It has only 30mg of caffeine. That means you can have up to 10 servings a day. The maximum safe level of caffeine intake per day is 300mg.

Otherwise the sugars used to sweeten it will add extra calories and carbs to your diet that you may not need. Some are sweetened more than others.
