I have videos on my computer that I want to put onto dvd r discs.. the videos are AVI

My DVD player is the kind that plays everything (divx, etc. etc.) so do I still need to convert the AVI to something else or not?

Will the quality be decent if its an AVI file?

Also how many hours of video can I put on a dvd r disc?

  1. you dont have to convert AVI files to anything else if your DVD player is capable of playing AVI files, just burn it as a data file.

Generally a moive which is of 100 Minutes would be of 700 MB in size. A DVD would be of 4.5 GB , now you can do the calculation.

  2. you can put about 2 hours on a disc, I use the wondershare video converter, but i am sure there are other free ones out there. I normally convert my files to mp4 to burn them.
