Question about my 2miles times?

I ran a 2 miles in 12:56 seconds and then this morning i ran 2.5 miles in 15:12 Whats up with that its only .5 mile longer. I was tired i mean it was 6 am in the morning. I had only slept 6 hours that night ne ways. could that be it. Im going to run JV this season for cross country wich is 2.5 miles and I am really nervous because my normal 2.5 mile time is around 13 mintues so i dont know am i getting slower during training ths summer. Ive been runing 2miles everyday. Am i getting slower or was i just tierd.

  1. GIVE YOUR BODY A BREAK..... it needs to have a break


  2. yur body is not used to runnin 2.5 even if its .5 more than yur normal run, u need to run 2.5 miles to get stronger when runnin 2miles

  3. dont worry about it if it was only one time. try training with more miles maybe start at like 20 miles a week and build off of that. so run like 3 miles everyday and dont worry about your time. its not important, and you dont need to worry about going fast now. just work on building a base so you will be ready when the season starts.

    btw good 2mile time, were you running it like a race or easy because my pr is 12.30 and thats really good if it was a easy/medium effort. if not then that may be why your 2.5 mile time is slower, you might not have been running it as hard. remember take it easy
